The Alliance then retaliates on Lordaeron. We have datamined lots of tantalizing snippets of broadcast text related to Lordaeron:rFirst in 25976 we got lots of dialogue related to Lordaeron.rNext in 26032 we got more dialogue related to the battle including some tense dialogue with Saurfang.rBuild 26231 then adds Saurfang dialogue showing his distrust for the Warchief.rrrHorde ScenariorrrIn this scenario, the Horde fight back against the Alliance, evacuating the Undercity and then turning to more controversial measures like using Blight to kill Alliance soldiers and raise them as ghouls. The Blight also kills wounded Horde soldiers in the way.
Saurfang is opposed to the idea, stating:rrSoldiers of the Horde! Your brothers and sisters lie wounded on the battlefield! There is no honor in this victory if we abandon our own!rrrHowever, Sylvanas urges the soldiers on:rSlay them all, champions! Mar my words, King Anduin and his army did not come here for their amusement. They mean to destroy us! Show them no mercy, for they would show you none in return!rrA placeholder cinematic occurs, which is likely Jaina breaching the walls of Lordaeron:r- Jaina Arrives! Her forces successfully blast through the wall of Lordaeron Keep!

You have the luxury of underestimating death, but it is something with which I am intimately familiar. Maybe you don't care if your people die so long as it is honorable. But to me, this Horde is worth saving. Anyone who disagrees does not deserve to stand among us.

So die your warrior's death, High Overlord Saurfang. It means little to me.

Perhaps I will raise your broken body to serve me once more. Or perhaps you will have a chance to say hello to your son.rrrrSylvanas walks into the keep and here another cutscene takes place. Datamined info is always subject to change, but we've found:r- Sylvanas is waiting in the throne room when Anduin arrives. Anduin offers her the chance to surrender. Instead, she blows up the entire city. Comment by TrickyZerg2on 2018-04-14T10:54:17-05:00It seems more like Rommath wanted the Void elves gone and Lor'themar fell in line, maybe he felt threatened by Umbric?
I feel like you can make the claim the Void Elves are following in Darkhan's footsteps, though we'd just be splitting hairs. They won't be crafting any scourge but certainly they've dug deeper than Darkhan.rrThe Ren'dorei will always feel a little confusing because they haven't really been fleshed out and they really could have just gone next door to Undercity and have been totally fine and accepted to pursue their research. Lor'themar has a lot of respect for Sylvanas, this is clear in Siege of Orgrimmar.rrThe dichotomy of Light and Dark is falling away especially after Argus. Some could make the case that Velen is a traitor to the Light because of how he decided to forge his own path due to Illidan. The traitor remark for Lor'themar then seems a little hollow.rrEvil is subjective. Both factions encompass a large diversity of different groups with different mores, codes, and creeds.
As such, there will be a mix of seemingly abhorrent and altruistic behavior. The main point: war isn't pretty.Comment by honourswordon 2018-04-14T10:57:51-05:00The Alliance started the war back in Stormheim attacking the warchief unprovoked shortly after their forces fought together on the broken shore. So Sylvanas responds in taking extreme measures to win the war the blue guys started. It is really simple. Win the war and the horde will be save alone on Kalimdor for centuries. I can get behind that idea.rrNot true as it looks like Stormheim didnt lead to war or if it did it was over once the Legion was defeatedComment by Grazrugon 2018-04-14T10:59:18-05:00The Alliance started the war back in Stormheim attacking the warchief unprovoked shortly after their forces fought together on the broken shore. I can get behind that idea.rrI will literally never get tired of people insisting that Genn is the true bad guy in all of this, because god forbid Sylvanas get held accountable for anything, ever.rrSylvanas attacked his kingdom unprovoked, slaughtered and tortured his troops, rendered Gilneas nearly uninhabitable with blight, and killed his son in front of him. He has every reason to have a grudge against her.rrWhen he receives intel suggesting that she's up to something shady in Stormheim, of course he jumps at the chance to attack her en route. And he was right - she ends up taking the Soulcage from Helya and using it in an attempt to enslave Eyir, a servant of Odyn (you know, the guy who we really really needed to be on his good side because he had the shield we needed to stop the world from blowing up), to grant herself immortality and an endless undead army.rrIn other words, she made an attack on a mutual ally that, best case scenario, would make her and the Forsaken essentially invincible, and worst case scenario would've screwed the entire war against the Legion. And Genn stopped her. But this makes him the bad guy.

Because reasons.rrSure.rrThis war started long before sylvanas makes her move on Teldrassil and Ashenvale. Because of Azerit the alliance just didn't want the horde to have without even knowing what it is.rrAlso it was bad ass luck that Sylvanas was actually up to something. Without that Genn would be held accountable for attacking the other faction leader when she tried to get the aegis for the champions. RrOne order would be enough to get the rest of the horde for a counter attack. RrAnd last on.
Just because the holy light has burned your brain out it doesn't mean you can throw accusations around. The only one seeing it as a bad thing that the forsaken become invincible would be, surprise the alliance.Comment by nonamegivenon 2018-04-14T11:05:26-05:00This war started long before sylvanas makes her move on Teldrassil and Ashenvale. That's why it makes sense for them to stop their enemies from becoming unstoppable.rrI noticed you missed the bit about pissing off the guy holding the MacGuffin we needed to stop the Legion from winning the war.rr(Horde main since TBC, by the way)Comment by baqqaon 2018-04-14T11:07:09-05:00I am really happy to be part of this. Be it fiction or something more. It is really cool how sparked a lot of ppl are about this.
